The Old-Fashioned Way
Step 1: Pick a spot near a hose.
Step 2: Put a capful of car soap into a bucket filled with warm water.
Step 3: Hose down any dirt on the car, begin with the roof and work your way down to tires.
Step 4: Soap up a sponge or rag in the bucket of soapy water and wipe down the car’s roof. Spray off any excess soap when you’ve cleaned the roof of the car completely.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 on sides of the car, washing one full side at a time, That includes windows, bumpers and tires. Rinse completely.
Step 6: Wash car with one final rinse to get rid of water spots after all four sides of the vehicle have been scrubbed, washed and rinsed.
Step 7: Take a fine leather shammy or towel and thoroughly dry the car. Buff out any any water spots. Work your way down from the roof to the tires.
Step 8: Wash car, your windows and wheels with a soapless, wet rag, then go over with a dry one on the inside and then the outside of the windows.
Step 9: Get rid of any water spots on the chrome or metal surfaces by giving them an extra rubdown.
